Ann Byker has over 14 years of experience and has been with Architects Alaska for 12 years. She is a vital part of our design team and specializes in healthcare projects. She has a strong background in medical clinic planning and a vast knowledge of materials, including flooring, wall treatments, and balancing textures and colors. Ann has a knack for creating unexpected features in projects – whether that’s a particular spatial component or a carefully executed focal point with the use of lighting, intriguing colors, and textures.
Ann strives to put a smile on her client’s face by creating spaces that intuitively speak to them. The idea that design can shape behavior in a predictable and positive way has always intrigued Ann. She is passionate in creating a sense of unification and meaning in the spaces she designs. Ann’s clients state that she is a good listener who proposes viable solutions based on desire, budget, and time.
When she’s not at work Ann enjoys being outside hiking, barbeques with family and friends, reading novels, smothering her son with love (and sometimes her husband) and cultivating her newfound passion for gardening.
