Michael has over 25 years of experience completing a wide range of architectural services. After growing up in South Carolina and later practicing architecture in the Seattle area, he relocated to Alaska due to a vast enthusiasm for new adventures in the Last Frontier. In 2002, he found a professional home with Architects Alaska and has grown with the firm to become Vice President and Principal Architect in 2018, and Senior Vice President in 2021. He prides himself in his dedication to the practice of architecture and is fascinated with keeping up with the latest developments and trends in the profession.
Michael’s work bridges the spectrum of market sectors. Much of his work is with repeat clients that appreciate his ability to listen to and synthesize their needs and vision into well-executed, functional, aesthetically pleasing results. His attention to detail and respectful, team-oriented attitude guarantees a feeling of accomplishment and success with each project he undertakes. Michael is passionate about architecture, dedicated to serving our clients, and responding with sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
Michael enjoys outdoor mountain sports, cycling (including international cycle touring), trail running, cross-country skiing, travel, photography, and spending time at home with Sarah and their pets.
