Located within the Providence Alaska Medical Center’s emergency department, the new Children’s Emergency Care Facility includes 13 private treatment rooms for pediatric emergencies. It was designed to feel “kid friendly” with a goal of reducing anxiety for children and helping to ease the stress that patients feel when visiting an emergency room. The project was part of a 6-phase effort to expand ER services at Providence, requiring the relocation of several departments.
