    MTA HEADQUARTERS REVITALIZATION

Embracing a rich blend of history and modernity, Architects Alaska skillfully transformed the 49,450 SF Matanuska Telephone Association (MTA) Headquarters in Palmer, AK, into a sophisticated, tech-forward operational hub. The comprehensive redesign narrates MTA’s unique brand story, from an inviting lobby, embellished with historical displays and a serene, contemporary aesthetic, to dynamically reconfigured workspaces across every floor. This meticulous reimagination prioritized harmonizing functional and aesthetic appeal, utilizing a palette inspired by MTA’s brand and Alaska’s natural beauty, and integrating a variety of serene and active social spaces, including a modern coffee and sandwich bar. Ensuring inclusive access to stunning Matanuska Peak views and natural daylight, open workspaces were innovatively aligned away from exterior walls.

Smart lighting dynamically adjusts to ambient daylight, while innovative cloaking film on conference room glass ensures data privacy amidst the open, daylight-filled workspaces. Each floor, from open office furniture areas designed for equitable access to natural vistas, to the top-floor C suite with its bespoke wood ceilings, echoes a commitment to an inclusive, modern, and technologically advanced working environment. This thorough reimagination not only encompasses wellness-focused ergonomic furnishing and a visually enticing central atrium but also stands as a testament to MTA’s forward-thinking approach, marrying technological advancements with design to foster a conducive, secure, and collaborative work environment, thereby perpetuating its legacy in the telecommunication domain.
