    BEAR CREEK FIRE STATION

The Bear Creek facilities in Seward, Alaska, needed to be updated due to age-related deterioration of the existing structures and growth in the community’s needs. The new Public Safety Building will provide a new home for the Seward Post of the Alaska State Troopers, facilitating their access to the Seward Highway and the Seward Airport, thereby enhancing their law enforcement capabilities. Co-location with the Bear Creek Fire Department will improve coordination for their search and rescue missions, as well as disaster response coordination.

The Bear Creek PSB provides multi-use educational space for training and other community activities such as fire safety education, volunteer and Fire Protection Area meetings, and even social activities such as potlucks, spaghetti feeds, and holiday parties. The Bear Creek Apparatus Bay will have concrete-formed masonry exterior walls with integral rigid insulation that will be both serviceable in wet and impact-resistant conditions.
