Nestled beside Wasilla Lake, the Collier Office Building stands as an architectural marvel in Wasilla.Spanning three stories and encompassing 12,794 SF, this professional office space is not just a testament to modern design but also to thoughtful harmony with nature.
Facing the fierce Northeastern winds, the structure elegantly incorporates design elements to both combat and embrace the environment. A dominant fin accentuates the northern facade, not only offering a windbreak to the entrance below but also cleverly supporting an overhanging conference room. As eyes travel northeast, they meet a cascading metal waterfall, which not only deflects the wind but also bathes the adjacent office and balcony in soft daylight.
Despite its contemporary aesthetics—showcased by an ensemble of metal sidings and pre-finished lap siding—the building remains rooted in its surroundings. The terrain’s natural incline was leveraged to provide dual-floor access, with the primary entrance leading into a luminous atrium. Inside, glulam stair components combine with sleek black and stainless steel finishes, while a tower of windows ensures the interiors are always drenched in light. The Collier Office Building is more than just a workplace; it’s where nature and architecture converge in beautiful symbiosis.
