Architects Alaska is seeking qualified applicants for our next Project Architect Design Professional in our Anchorage, Alaska office! The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience on a broad range of market sector building types and work experience with the complete range of architectural services – from programming through all phases of design services, construction administration, and project close-out. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, technically proficient, and knowledgeable of building codes and industry standards while having a solid understanding of building systems and components. Our firm fosters a collaborative environment; working as a team player is critical to success. The position requires effective oral and written communication with clients, stakeholders, and design team members. The candidate should have excellent visual representation skills to convey design concepts via loose and refined design sketches and produced drawings, which is highly desirable. You will participate in all design stages, helping to lead the design team through developing contract documents and following through with construction administrative services. The candidate must coordinate with consultants, write specifications and technical documents, and provide project assistance to the Project Manager and Principal Architect.

General Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Architecture
  • Licensed or on Licensure Track
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize work activities and consistently meet deadlines
  • MS Office Suite
  • AutoCAD & Revit
  • Sketch-Up proficiency desired
